YASKAWA D1000 - The Energy Saving Regenerative Unit

The new D1000 regenerative converter unit complements the YASKAWA product range with a low harmonics (THD-i below 5%) Active Frontend Solution. It’s suitable for single drive operation with energy recovery, as well as for systems of multiple inverter drives, servo axes and robots. Excess braking energy is fed back sinusoidal to power grid in instead of converting and dissipating it to heat. This cuts down costs and protects the environment. It is perfect for applications like cranes, hoists, elevators, winders, presses, winders, centrifuges and in general for all industrial environments with high harmoics distortions.

D1000 removes the need of braking choppers and resistors, thus saving valuable space and reducing the risk of fire. By not dissipating energy as heat the demand for ventilation is greatly reduced and maintenance, e.g. for resistor cleaning becomes needless. The YASKAWA D1000 is available in three-phase up to 560kW.
